BikeFlex Partners with Solarcycle to Revolutionise E-Bike Charging
[PRESS RELEASE]
BikeFlex Partners with Solarcycle
to Revolutionise
E-Bike Charging
In a ground-breaking move towards sustainability, e-bike leasing company BikeFlex has joined forces with Solarcycle UK to provide 100% renewable solar e-bike charging under its business leasing plans.
This collaboration comes as a direct response to the growing demand for e-bike charging solutions, offering businesses an affordable and environmentally responsible alternative to fleet cars.
BikeFlex is known for being the first company to take e-bikes into the leasing market. Solarcycle is the first company in the UK to offer an off-grid, solar ‘in a box’ EV charging solution designed to provide green, renewable energy for the charging of e-bikes. By offering Solarcycle’s innovative charging solution under its business leasing plans, BikeFlex empowers its customers to further enhance their sustainability and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) efforts by providing
free-to-use solar charge points.
The new partnership between BikeFlex and Solarcycle UK aims to accelerate the transition from traditional cars to e-bikes by making e-biking and charging more accessible and affordable. One sector that stands to benefit immensely from this collaboration is the estate and lettings market, which employs approximately half a million people in the UK who frequently travel to property viewings using company cars. By replacing their car fleets with e-bikes, these professionals can navigate through traffic congestion while adopting a cleaner, healthier, and more active mode of transportation. This sector, along with other industries like hospitality, leisure, hotels, last mile delivery, technology and science parks, presents a compelling use case for switching to e-bikes, which BikeFlex is targeting with its new leasing plan.
‘Tim Hammond, Co-Founder of BikeFlex, emphasises the significance of this partnership, stating, “Our e-bike leasing customers often ask what to do about charging. Leasing e-bikes with Solarcycle is the perfect complete solution for businesses working with an ESG agenda. The e-bike fleet and charging solution, created in collaboration with Solarcycle, will entice people out of their cars and onto e-bikes.
This is a pivotal moment for companies to take responsibility for their fleets and embrace e-bikes as part of a sustainable and cost-effective transportation solution, not only for their employees but also as part of their overall company fleet.”
“With Solarcycle’s ‘solar-in-a-box’ e-bike charging solution, developed by cyclists for cyclists, and BikeFlex’s innovative e-bike leasing, the two companies are providing businesses with everything they need to make the switch from cars to e-bikes”.
Paul Stratford, Founder of Solarcycle UK, echoes the sentiment, saying, “I am excited to be working with BikeFlex as a company that closely reflects our mission of getting people to switch from the car to an e-bike. With Solarcycle’s ‘solar-in-a-box’ e-bike charging solution, developed by cyclists for cyclists, and BikeFlex’s innovative e-bike leasing, the two companies are providing businesses with everything they need to make the switch from cars to e-bikes. This new partnership creates a hassle-free and affordable way for businesses and organisations to positively contribute to their overall sustainability goals.”
For businesses, leasing Solarcycle’s easy-to-install solar-in-a-box e-bike charging solution alongside their e-bike fleet offers significant benefits. It is 100% tax deductible and starts at a cost of just £195 per month over a three-year period for the SolarPoint Twin e-bike charging station. Customers can select their e-bike fleet and add the necessary number of SolarPoints. The charging pillars can even be branded to promote a company’s sustainability efforts and encourage staff and visitors to make the switch from cars to e-bikes.
Solarcycle’s charging stations are accessible to all e-bike users and feature UK standard universal 3-pin sockets. The system harnesses sunlight through flexible PV panels, converting this renewable energy into electrical current for e-bike charging on the SolarPoint pillars. Each pillar is configured to charge two bikes simultaneously.
BikeFlex is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and is the first cycle to work scheme to operate like the popular car salary sacrifice leases. The company offers twenty electric bike brands, models and make under its leasing plans, from foldable, to step-through, to e-cargo bikes and anything in-between.
The SolarPoint e-bike charging station will be showcased on the BikeFlex stand G42 at the NEC-based National Cycling Show. For more information visit: www.bikeflex.co.uk or www.solarcycle.uk.
